- Allen Coy Parlier, 69, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late James Elliott and Georgia Bowers Parlier.
Mr. Parlier was a retired painter. He was a member of Sunset Freewill Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, where he loved attending and his church family. He also enjoyed trading cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, David Parlier, and four brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Florence Parlier, of the home; also residing in his home, Alex, Tiffany and Candace; three sons, Allen Parlier, Johnny Parlier and Edward Parlier, all of North Carolina; a daughter, Pam Holtsclaw, Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, Nikki, Alex, Tiffany, Candace, Josh, Christopher, Jacob, Eddie and Destiny; four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Christopher, Layla and Adlin; two sisters, Tabatha Lackey of North Carolina and Vickie Harrell, Elizabethton; and seven brothers, Roy Parlier, Norman Parlier and Sonny Parlier, all of Elizabethton, Steve Parlier, Timmy Parlier, Ricky Parlier and Bobby Parlier, all of North Carolina.
A service to honor the life of Allen Coy Parlier will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at Sunset Freewill Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, with Pastor Terry Richardson and Pastor Phillip Coffey officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church choir. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or friends may also call at his residence on Fork Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, or at the residence of a brother, Sonny Parlier, Rocky Branch Road, Elizabethton, at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service on Sunday in the Largent Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be David Blevins, Dustin Parlier, Little Sonny Parlier, Josh Lackey, Mikey Parlier and Melvin Parlier. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Parlier and Johnny Parlier.
