- Richard S. Lowe, died at his home in Johnson City on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, following an extended illness. He was a native of Mountain City, Tennessee, and had lived in Johnson City since 1960. He was the son of the late Richard S. Lowe Sr. and Cassie Ellen Lowe. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was an Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lowe retired from Eastman Kodak Company after 32 years of service. He was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and trustee. He is survived by his wife, Christine Lowe, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard Todd Lowe and wife, Daisy, and their twin daughters, Zoe Grace and Kate Ellen, of Hong Kong; Terry Lowe and wife, Renee, and their sons, Austin Blake and Evan Patrick, of Gray; one sister, Betty Durnan, Delaware; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be brothers-in-law, nephews, and deacons of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Sluder, Fred Addison, Marvin McKinney, Carroll Billheimer, Bill Roberson, Lester Arnold, Bill Brookshire, Randal Pierce, Danny Ray Miller, Wilson Terry, Mickey Leonard, Frank Lawrence, Jim Brogdon, teammates in the Pro-Am Golf League, friends at the McDonald’s club and friends and neighbors in Garland Farms. A celebration of life services for Mr. Lowe will be conducted at Sinking Creek Baptist Church, Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Reece Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Washington County Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2004. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
