RAY NORRIS
Ray Norris, age 43, died in a local hospital Saturday morning at seven o'clock, after a short illness. He was a prominent farmer, living on Simerly Creek, near Hampton.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ray Norris; five daughters, Mrs. Smith Teague, Elizabethton; Georgia, Belle, Louise and Joyce; his mother, Mrs. Etta Norris, Hampton; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Turner, Hampton; Mrs. Dela Burnett, Johnson City; Mrs. Belle Clark, and Mrs. Cora Smith, Simerly Creek; three brothers, Charles Norris, and Floyd Norris, Simerly Creek; Neal Norris, of Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. John Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Simerly Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Elijah Collins, Sam Gouge, Martin Clark, Nat Gouge, Doke Street, Will Morton.
Flowerbearers[sic] will include Mesdames Ida Rowe, Irene Barnett, Elsie Simerly, Sam Gouge, Mary Simerly, Caroline Simerly, Lorene Carver, Dave Phillips, and Ruth Miller.
The body was removed form the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home to the home on Simerly Creek yesterday afternoon at two o'clock.
