- Nannie Lou Miller, 75, of 137 Jerome Stevens Road, Hampton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Ward and Lena McClellan Chambers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Miller, and son, Brandon Miller.
Mrs. Miller attended Whitehead Hill Christian Church. She retired as a seamstress from Levi Strauss Company. She enjoyed playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles and gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Hazel May and husband Benny, Battle Creek, Mich., Lula Lyons and husband Robert, Hampton, Tenn., Jeannette Barnett and husband Junior, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Debra Miller and special friend, Rebecca Dugger, both of Hampton, Tenn. Twelve grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Nannie Lou Miller will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Terry Dugger, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will follow the service in the Street Cemetery, Brown Branch Road, Hampton. Active pallbearers will be Jeffery Hill, Jimmy Lyons, Michael Jones, Chuck Chambers and James Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Barnett, Roger Stevens and Jim Chambers.
