  Notes	Mr. Fred E. Eggers, age 82, of Boone, died Thursday night, Dec. 14, 2006, at Watauga Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Valle Crucis, Watauga County, to Walter Eugene and Tempie Shook Eggers. Mr. Eggers was a 1944 graduate of Cove Creek High School. He retired from Hound Ears Resort after 30 years in property services. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served in Italy, France, England and Germany, and was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and Infantryman Badge. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and Boone Optimist Club. He attended Greenway Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Buster, Claude, Jack and infant Joe Dale Eggers; three sisters, Charlotte Cole, Alice Tester and Snow Caraway.
