- Mrs. Ora Osborne Brown, 94, a resident of Bristol, Tenn., died Wednesday in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Sullivan County, Tenn., and daughter of the late Charles and Lilly Hicks Osborne. She was a charter member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was an active member of the March for Christ Organization of Vance Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. R. Brown and sons, John E. Bowery Jr. and Charles Bowery.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Haynes Watson of Bristol, Tenn., Elinor and Wimpy Gray of Bluff City; daughter-in-law, Peggy Mitchell Bowery of Bristol, Tenn.; special son-in-law, Mack Mottern of Bristol, Tenn.; stepchildren, Edith and Page McClellan of Bluff City, and Mildred and Pat Moore of Atlanta; sister, Rosene Salyer of Kingsport; and brothers, C.J. Osborne Jr., of Bluff City, Wallace Osborne of Piney Flats and I.G. Osborne of Blountville. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m Saturday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Yelton officiating, assisted by Rev. Haynes Watson and Rev. Scott Watson. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
