- Ruby Kate Wilson Moody, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on April 15, 1923 to the late Dr. William Clyde Wilson and Dottie Arnold Wilson. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a one sister, six brothers and a grandson, Michael Moody.
Ruby enjoyed the outdoors very much, especially feeding and watching the birds and her flowers. Ruby loved her family very much and loved cooking and having family get togethers. She was a gifted quilter and made many treasured quilts for her family. She had a special love for animals, especially cats and dogs, of which she had several throughout the years. Ruby was always willing to help others and volunteered at the Mountain City Care Center and Welcome Center. She always loved a good yard sale and the contents in her out building were proof of that.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters: Carolyn Diugus and Nancy Mahala and husband Buster; sons: Billy Moody, Jimmy Moody and wife Barbara and Danny Moody; half- sisters: Lois Wilson Price and Mary Alice Wilson Roper; grandchildren: Jason Moody, Randy 'Bo' Pleasant, Andrew Roark and Erin Taylor; great grandchildren: MacKenzie Moody and Michael Wayne Moody; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m .on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Taylor, Andrew Roark, Bill Moody, Buster Mahala and family and friends.
