- PINEY FLATS - Cleo Chelsie Perkins Osborne, age 94, of 615 North Pickens Bridge Road, Piney Flats, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 1st, 2015, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee after many years of being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She was born May 24th, 1921 near Butler, Tennessee, in Johnson County. She lived most of her life in Piney Flats, Tennessee. Mrs. Osborne was the daughter of the late Robert and Ester Wagner Perkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace James Osborne after almost 65 years of marriage and their 18 month old son, Paul James Osborne, one sister; Nell Forrester, four brothers; Elbert, Ernest, Odis and Leroy Perkins. Mrs. Osborne was an active member of Piney Flats Baptist Church until her illness. She loved working in Vacation Bible School for almost fifty years. Survivors include one daughter Betty Johnson and husband Marvin "Buck" of Piney Flats; one son Bobby Osborne and wife Shirley of Princeton West Virginia ; two grandsons Marvin Johnson Jr. of Piney Flats and Bobby Osborne II of Johnson City ; one brother, Robert Perkins Jr. of Elizabethton ; one sister, Nova Lee Hatch of Yucca Valley California, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to three nieces for their loving care, Janie Sams and husband Eddie, Janie Archer, and Adella Bardon. A service to honor the life of Mrs. Osborne will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5th, 2015 at Piney Flats First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Davis and Reverend Frank Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday November 5th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., prior to the service or at her daughters residence 571 North Pickens Bridge Road, Piney Flats any time. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday November 10th, 2015 at Edgefield Cemetery, Piney Flats, those who wish to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Sams, John Swonger, Dean Torbett, Anthony Johnson, Jacob Bury, Bobby Osborne, Bobby Osborne II, Marvin "Buck" Johnson and Marvin Johnson Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Stevens, Jim Sanders and Carl "Buddy" Rash.
