- Mary I.(Goode) Oliver, age 92,of Elizabethton died Thursday, October 27, 2005 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, following a brief illness. Born in Idaho, but she had lived in Carter County most of her life. Mrs. Oliver was a daughter of the late Sam and Lockie Bunton Goode. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Oliver, October 17, 1982, one brother, Otis Bunton, and one daughter, Dorothy Oliver. Survivors are two daughters and nephews.
Funeral service for Mary Oliver was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 31 in Union Baptist Church with Rev. David Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends who attend the service.
