- Boyd James Trivette, age 69, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Trivette was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Elmer and Rana Dugger Trivette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Henson and a half brother, David Potter.
Mr. Trivette retired from Watauga Industries as a textile worker and was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Donnis Trivette, of Butler; two sons, Todd Trivette and wife Beverly, of Butler, and Eric Trivette of Hampton; one grandson, Jake Trivette of Butler; one sister, Martha "Glenda Kay" Brush and husband Richard, of Morristown; three half brothers, Mike Trivette, Bobby Trivette, and Dale Potter, all of Butler; brother-in-laws, Ricky Guy, of North Carolina, Gary Guy of Butler, and Charles Henson, of Elizabethton; sisters-in-law, Regina Cable of North Carolina and Oma Lee Lambert of Elizabethton; and a special niece, Sheila Loudermilk, of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Trivette will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Rev. Bryan Miller, officiating. Music will be under the direction of the members of Flat Springs Choir. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Piney Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jake Trivette, Justin Loudermilk, Charles Henson, Gary Guy, Lloyd Cable and Ricky Guy. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd's friends of the Elk Mills and Poga Community. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
