- Eulah Mae Buckles, 91, of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, died Saturday, August 25, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Buckles was a native of Carter County and a former resident of Gray and 212 Village East Apartments, Elizabethton. She was the daughter of the late Judson and Cordia Bowers Oliver and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Buckles, April 7, 1971, an infant son, Jerry Lee Buckles, and by eight brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Buckles was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Jack Hyder, Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Florette Buckles, Elizabethton, and Larry and June Buckles, Gray; a sister, Minnie Williams, Elizabethton; four half sisters, Nadine Ward, Joann Ward, Wanda Bennett and Lois Vines, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Tammy Williams, Atlanta, Ga., Donna Rogers, St. Louis, Mo., Cindy Wine, Gray, Mike Buckles, Blountville, and Kevin T. Buckles, Elizabethton; five great-grandchildren, Chris Wine, Virginia Beach, Va., Cody Wine, Gray, Sidney Rogers and Matthew Rogers, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Kristina Buckles, Blountville; and a great-great-grandson, Ethan Wine, Virginia Beach, Va. Twenty-eight nieces and nephews also survive.
BUCKLES -- Funeral services for Eulah Mae Buckles, 91, of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, August 25, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, August 27, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Mr. Jack Hyder and Mr. Richard Thomason, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Ona Fay Oliver. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Buckles, Kevin Buckles, Cody Wine, Stephen Wise, Richard Rogers and Richard Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Wine, Billy Murphy, the men of Blue Springs Christian Church and the nursing staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home.
