- Floyd William Buckles, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lee and Callie Williams Buckles.
Mr. Buckles was a retired electrician with North American
Rayon Corporation. He served in the United States Army
during World War II. Mr. Buckles was a member and Elder of East Side Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
wife, Hazel Guinn Buckles, May 2, 1994; a daughter, Rita Buckles; and by three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Poole and Barbara
Fair and husband, Clifford, all of Elizabethton; a son, Ronnie Buckles, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Ashley Walsh, Tabitha Price, Donna Mosley and Joey Buckles; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Buckles will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Friday, July 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Randle
Johnson and Mr. John H. Smith, ministers, officiating. Music
will be provided by the East Side Christian Church Choir. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, will be Clifford Fair, Cody Walsh, Gregg Price, Rob Mosley, Frank Richardson, Wes Holtsclaw and Junior Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family.
