- Mr. Church was a native of Carter County and had lived in Unicoi County since 11936. He was a son of the late Iley C. "W.C." and Ellen Catharine Bunton Church.
He was a Clinchfield Railroad inspector before retiring in 1975 after 52 years of service.
He was a member of the Buffalo Valley Christian Church and a member of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge No. 681 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Ellen Potter Church; two brothers, Luther Church and Gordie Church; and one sister, Della Church Arney.
Survivors include his wife, Addie McGuire Church; two sons, David D. and David H. Church; one daughter, Blanca Church Miller.
