- He was the son of the late John and Bell Lilly Blevins and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Nell Hawk, two brothers, Gleason and Henry Blevins, and four infant brothers.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa and Korea.
Mr. Blevins was a member of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church and attended Biltmore Baptist Church and was active in the B & K Community Center. He was a former employee of Bemberg Industries and was also a carpenter.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel.
Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
