- Grady W. Taylor, 87, formerly of Sunrise Dr., Elizabethton, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, in the Pine Ridge Care Center following a brief
illness.
A Carter County native, he was the son of the late George Washington and Matilda Peters Taylor. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Taylor and Veda Grindstaff, four brothers, Gilbert Taylor, Emra Taylor, Luther Taylor and Zaney Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member and former deacon of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Taylor, Elizabethton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Inez and Gene Hampton, Stafford, Va., and Angela and Terry Wilson, Knoxville, Tenn., two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Betty Taylor, Bluff City, and Gaylon and Susan Taylor, Laurel Bloomery, five sisters, Amanda Eggers, Burless Bowers, Annalee Oliver, Lillian Wilson and
Gennieve Farmer, all of Elizabethton, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
TAYLOR -- Funeral services for Grady W. Taylor, 87, formerly of Sunrise Dr., Elizabethton, who died Saturday, June 8, 2002, in the Pine Ridge Care Center, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, with the Revs. Richard Estep and Richard Bowers officiating. Music will be under the direction of Christina Lewis, soloist. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
