- ELIZABETHTON – Beulah Proffitt Carr, 91, Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, in the Pine Ridge Care & Rehab Center after an extended illness.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late David & Bertha Rambo Greer. She had lived a number of years in Elizabethton. She was a homemaker. Beulah was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce Proffitt; her second husband, Geroge Carr; and son, Jackie Bruce Proffitt.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Jean Lowe, Mountain City, Judy Brockwell and husband Donald, and Nancy Matherly and husband Harold, all of Elizabethton; one son, Jerry Proffitt, Elizabethton; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Greer, Norfolk, VA; her sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Greer and Selma Morgan; one brother-in-law, A.B. Carr; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Roby Ellis, Mr. Eddy Craft, and Brian Smith officiating. Graveside service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Butler Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Doug Hinshaw officiating. Music will be provided by Jay Palmer, Steve Roberts, and the Congregation.
Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, will be: Robbie Baird, Jonathan Lowe, Chris Reece, Derek Brown, Matthew Proffitt, Justin Davis, Harold Matherly, Robbie Davis, and Donald Brockwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family.
