- ELIZABETHTON - William "Bill" Russell Roberson, age 71, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, Saturday, May 28, 2016, from the Hillview Health Care Center of Elizabethton, following an extended illness.
He was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Floyd Charles Roberson and Margaret Virginia (Dye) Roberson. He was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. He was a carpenter and a dedicated caregiver to his mother and father until their death. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
Other than his mother and father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Elbert Roberson.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memories, two brothers, Kermit C. Roberson and wife Reba, of Jonesborough and Floyd Walker Roberson and wife Diane, of Elizabethton; three sisters, Joyce Loving, of Jonesborough, Jeanette Fitzwater and husband Jim, of Morristown, and Wilma Lyons and husband Jerry, of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mr. William "Bill" Russell Roberson will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 30, 2016, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with his brother, Pastor Floyd W. Roberson and his brother-in-law, Jerry Lyons, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday; or at the residence of his sister, Wilma Lyons, at any time.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Luther Norris, Jim Sams and Bill's nephews.
