- ELIZABETHTON — Mary Evelyn Pierce Williams,, 81, Elizabethton passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Armstrong & Grace Smith Pierce. Mrs. Williams was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and the Always Ready Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John E. Williams, who died February 27, 2011; by a half-sister, Georgia Blanche Grindstaff; and two brothers, James O. & Guerney Pierce.
Survivors include two daughters, Starr Lowe and husband Tim, Elizabethton and Sandra Williams, Johnson City; two sons, Matthew Williams and wife Madeline and Johnny Williams all of Elizabethton; a sister, Patsy Stout, Gray; four brothers, Rhonda Pierce and wife Shirley, Hampton, Lawrence Pierce and wife Pauletta, Dean Pierce and wife Loretta and Dallas Pierce and wife Carolyn all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Jamie Amer & Jessica Harr, Johnny Scott Williams and Makenzie Williams; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; her sisters-in-law, Myrtle Pierce, Wanda Pierce and Shirley Pierce; several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Taylor, and Rev. Willie Lunsford officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10:45 a.m. on Monday May 9, 2016, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by Mike Williams. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
