- ERWIN — Kathleen Renfro Jones, 96, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Jones was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late Luss L. and Mary May Henley Renfro. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Hiram S. Jones; brothers, D. Stanley Renfro, Robert Lee Renfro, Harold D. Renfro and wife, Jean, Mack L. Renfro and wife, Frances, and Clarence "Bogue" Renfro; step-children, E.L. Sneed Adrian, Orlando Jones and wife, Lena, John Jones and wife, Frances, David Jones, Mary Hughes, Clarence Jones and wife, Patsy Jones, Charles Jones, Eva Hughes and husband, Charles, Nora Dean Oaks and husband, Bill, and H.A. Jones and wife, Katie.
Kathleen Jones has left behind to cherish her memories, brother, Rex Renfro and wife, Ernestine of Jonesborough; sister-in-law, Dorothy Renfro of Erwin; five nephews and five nieces, which include two special nieces, Lana Renfro and Patricia Looney, both of Johnson City; step-children, Betty Adkins and Melba Jones of Erwin; daughters-in-law, Velva Watson Jones and Theressa Jones of Erwin; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Kathleen Renfro Jones in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2016, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Janice Johnson and Teresa Treadway will provide vocal selections.
A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until service time on Saturday at Valley Funeral Home.
A committal service will follow at Fishery Community Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Garry Renfro, Stanley Renfro, Chris Renfro, David Renfro, W.L. Renfro, and Dr. Pete Renfro.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Center on Aging and Health East Wing, including Danielle and Glenna and especially Nancy and Wanda for all of their love and care.
