- Selma Colbaugh Parlier, age 91, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Riley Fred Colbaugh and Mary Smith Colbaugh. Mrs. Parlier retired from North American Rayon Corporation and she was a member of Borderview Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling to gospel singings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grady Parlier; an infant sister, Evelyn Colbaugh and three brothers, Glenn Colbaugh, Harry Colbaugh and Freddie Colbaugh. Those left to cherish her memory include two brothers, Herman Colbaugh and Gene Colbaugh, both of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A service to honor the life of Selma Colbaugh Parlier will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2016 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Scott Fisher, minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service or at the residence of Jim and Tami Colbaugh at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Allen Parlier, Jim Colbaugh, Doug Colbaugh, Rick Colbaugh, Justin Colbaugh, Hershel Scalf, Jason Wiseman and Grant Colbaugh. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
