- Surrounded by his family at his home, Wiley Glen Stout, Jr. was promoted to Glory at 3:00 AM on Christmas morning, Friday, December 25th, after an extended illness.
Wiley was born on April 7, 1944 in Johnson County, TN. He was the son of the late Wiley G. Stout and Hazel Long Stout.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a talented and resourceful master carpenter who loved building and crafting things. He loved U.T. Football and Bluegrass music.
He was a member of the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine in 2010; and by four sisters, Ruth Hodges, Imogene Bright, Marie Taylor, and Beverly McCurry; and four brothers, Paul Stout, Jack Stout, Jim Stout, and Richard Stout.
Mr. Stout is survived by two children, BJ Stout and wife Cindy of Johnson City, and Michael Adams and wife Trea of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Makayla, Catelyn, Zeke, and Michael Adams of Jonesborough; and by one sister, Shirley Puckett of Banner Elk, N.C.; three brothers, Barton Stout of Gray, Godfrey Stout of Jonesborough, and Bennie Stout, of Telford. He is also survived by countless Nieces and Nephews, and a host of lifelong friends.
Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chipper White, Billy Tittle, Oliver Henley, Eddie Rose, Carl Little, Floyd Hopson, Mark Surcey, Coy Lee Bennett, and Barry Stoots,.
Friends will be received at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Monday December 28, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow with Reverend Perry Cleek, Reverend Jimmie Rogers and Reverend David Simmerman officiating.
Interment will be on Tuesday December 29, 2015, 11:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
