- Sam G. Harrison, 89, Rt. 4, Elizabethton, died Monday, July 29, 1991, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Harrison was a native of Carter County and a son of the late George and Hannah Waycaster Harrison. He was a member of the Centerview Church of Christ and was retired from the Spinning Department of Bemberg Corporation. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Calhoun Harrison of the home; three sons, Elmer L. Harrison of San Antonio, Texas, Farrell T. Harrison, Rt. 10, Elizabethton, and George R. Harrison, Rt. 4, Elizabethton; four daughters, Mrs. Casey (Geraldine) Jones and Mrs. Claude (JoAnn) Guinn, both of Rt. 4, Elizabethton, Christine Hamm of Elizabethton and Mrs. Gene (Maxine) Ellis, Rt. 3, Elizabethton; and a sister, Mrs. Mollie Presnell of Roan Mountain, fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services for Sam G. Harrison, 89, Rt. 4, Elizabethton, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Roan Mountain Church of Christ with Mr. David Powell, Mr. David Irick and Mr. Bobby McGee officiating. Music will be by the Centerview Church of Christ Singers. Interment will follow in the Harrison Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons.
