- Mrs Texie B. Peters, 80, Rt. 2, Hampton, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 1990, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a Unicoi County native but had lived in Mishawaka, Ind., for 15 years before coming to Hampton. She was a daughter of the late Harrison and Frances Bentley Calhoun. Mrs. Peters was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one grandchild. Survivors include her husband, Mike Peters; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Hazlewood, Plymouth, Ind., Mrs. Carolyn Magnuson, Mishawaka, and Mrs. Gail White, Hampton; four sons, Jack R. Peters, Pembroke Pines, Fla., William "Bill" Peters, Elizabethton; George "Buster" Peters, Deer Park, N.Y., and Michael "Steve" Peters, Johnson City; one brother, Jeff Calhoun, Hampton; one sister, Mrs. Grace Harrison, Elizabethton; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Texie B. Peters, age 80, of Rt. 2 Hampton, who died Tuesday, August 28, 1990 will be conducted at 8 P.M. Friday in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Burgess Vincent and Mr. Bill Jones, Minister, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be family members. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Friday in the Riverside Chapel and at the residence any time.
