- Alfred Lewis Hubbard, 68, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord November 17, 2008, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William Austin and Geneva Lyons Hubbard. He was a retired Construction Worker. Mr. Hubbard was a member of Watauga Masonic Lodge #622. Mr. Hubbard had made Pork Rinds at the Tri Cities Flea Market for over 40 years. He was a Free Will Baptist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Sizemore, Ann Banks and Maggie Babb; and one brother, Bill Hubbard.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Frankie Roberts Hubbard; One Son, Jeffrey Hubbard, West Virginia; One Daughter, Karen Whaley and a special friend, Rick Conner, both of Elizabethton; Three Granddaughters: Kayla Whaley, Elizabethton, Kandi Hubbard and Brandi Hubbard; Great Grandson: Dalton Riley Beam, Newland, North Carolina; Three Brothers: Luther Hubbard, Johnson City, and Jerry Hubbard and wife, Denise, of Arizona, Ricky Hubbard, Elizabethton; Four Sisters: Charlotte Hyder and husband, Ralph, of Elizabethton, Mary Coleman, Winston-Salem, NC, Shelby Cranford and Brenda Poteat and husband "Tootie," of North Carolina; A brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl & Linda Roberts, Elizabethton; A very special Mother-in-Law: Myrtle Roberts; His special friends: Linda and Ralph Trivette, of Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shane Waters and Rev. Arnold Hensley officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Music will be provided by Shane Blevins and C.J. Roberts.
Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Friday, will be: Dwayne Sexton, Dillard Shell, Richard Miller, Steve Harrett, Johnny Walker and Eddie Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be: Carl Roberts, Mark Roberts, Rick Conner, Steve Babb, Michael Babb, Bobby Babb, David Roberts and Michael Hubbard.
