- Daisy D. Estep, 83, 104 Laurel Street, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 2, 2010, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Fannie Parker Estep. Mrs. Estep attended the Old Horseshoe School at Wilbur Lake and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 44 years of service. She attended the Old Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Jack, Earl, Nat, Alfred and Ray Estep.
Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Lewis and husband Steve, Dimple Church, Tammy Bowers, Rachel Birchfield, Brenda Harvey and Sue Birchfield; a son, Billy Brock; an adopted daughter, Linda Mink; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, David "Cooley" Estep and wife June; a sister-in-law, Georgia Estep; her special friends, Markie Peters and Doris Bullock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Estep will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Grindstaff officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, in the Old Horseshoe Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be David Harvey, Paul Harvey, Steve Lewis and Todd Berry. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to Amedisys Hospice for all the care given to our mother.
