- JOHNSON CITY - Samuel Gibson "Sam" Daniels, 69, Johnson City passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel & Mary Elliott Daniels. Sam attended Elizabethton Schools and was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He served his country in the US Army and the Naval Reserves. He was a former employee of the Elizabethton and Johnson City Police Departments and prior to his illness retired as a Captain of the Security System of the Johnson City Medical Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Gary E, Daniels. He is survived by his wife Paula Rebecca "Becky" Buck Daniels. A step-son: Eric (Christy) Kelly, Greeneville and his two best furry friends Mollie & Roxie. A special thanks is extended to the Staff of the 3300 Wing of Princeton Transition Center of the Johnson City Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 75817, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Private Services will be held as per his request. Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Daniels family.
