- Mrs. Cora Belle Bowers, 614 N. Pine Street, died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Monday at 4 p.m. after a brief illness. She was 78, and was a native of Carter County and a life-long resident. Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Myers Large, prominent pioneer families of this section. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bowers, in 1930, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be made in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
