- Guy N. Troutman, age 89, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Troutman was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Hezekiah "Hez" and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Street; and two brothers, Jess and Roy Troutman.
Mr. Troutman retired from Sperry Corporation and was an active member of Rittertown Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years and served on many Pulpit Committees throughout the years. He was a United States Army veteran and was instrumental in rebuilding many roads in Germany during his service time from 1950-1952. He loved being outdoors and enjoying nature.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of over 60 years, Deloris Smith Troutman, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Debbie Troutman, of Hampton; three brothers, Ralph, J.L. and Jack Troutman; one sister, Willie Barnett; two grandchildren, Allison Hill, of Hampton, and Cyndie Morelock, of Rogersville, TN; three great grandchildren, Izaak and Avery Hill, and Teagan Morelock. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Guy N. Troutman will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Rittertown Baptist Church, 822 Rittertown Road, Hampton, with Rev. Dean Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Friday.
The graveside service will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Stout, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Rittertown Baptist Church.
