KING SHAW
King Shaw, age 68, died at the Appalachian Hospital Friday afternoon. Mr. Shaw suffered a heart attack Friday morning. His condition became serious in the afternoon, was taken to the hospital, died shortly after arriving. Mr. Shaw was highly respected citizen of Carter County, prominent farmer of the Hampton section, member of the Union Baptist Church at Cardens Bluff.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Emma Shaw, four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Stewart of Elizabethton, Mrs. Lucille Ritchie, Mrs. James Hinkle, Mrs. Floyd Campbell of Hampton, Four sons, Louis Shaw, Lucas of Hampton, Mark, of Butler, Manuel, of Elizabethton. One brother, Bill Shaw, of Hampton, 27 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Union Baptist Church at Cardens, Bluff, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Joe Potter and the Rev. W. W. Ward officiating. Burial will be made in the Union Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Harold Lewis, M. G. Nidiffer, Lawrence Whitehead, Allen Doss, Howard McGinnis, D. O. Johnson, Vaughn Campbell, Carson Campbell.
Flower bearers will be selected from friends.
The body was returned to the home at Cardens Bluff this morning at nine o'clock.
