- Omer Carver, 80, Hamp-ton, passed away Tues-day, April 21, 2015, in the Sy-c-a-more Shoal Hos-pi-tal.
A na-tive of Carter County, he was a son of the late John H. and Betty Moore Carver. He was a farmer and set mon-u-ments for sev-eral years for Hitch-cock Me-mo-rial. He was of the Free Will Bap-tist Faith.
In ad-di-tion to his par-ents, he was pre-ceded in death by eleven broth-ers and one sis-ter.
Sur-vi-vors in-clude a nephew: Lester Carver, Uni-coi; A niece: Mil-dred Mor-ton, Uni-coi; Sev-eral cous-ins.
Funeral Ser-vices will be con-ducted at 1 p.m. Satur-day, April 25, 2015, in Me-mo-rial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Jones and Rev. Bill Greer of-fi-ci-at-ing.
In-ter-ment will fol-low in the Carver-Cochran Ceme-tery. Ac-tive Pall-bear-ers will be: Larry Mor-ton Jr., Junior Clark, Ray Smith, Steve Si-merly, Jack Smith, Ned Smith and Josh Smith. Honor-ary Pall-bear-ers will be: Robert Guinn, Byrl Clark and Al-bert Elli-son
