- Otis Denton Guinn, 72, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Guinn was a native of Carter County, a son of the late Jacob & Blanche Arnett Guinn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Sarah Whitehead; a brother: George Guinn; and a niece: Loretta Whitehead McKinney.
Mr. Guinn was of the 1961 class at Cloudland High School. He served in the United States Army and the Tennessee National Guard. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the Daryl White Sunday School Class. He was a member of The Praying Mountain Men.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years: Sandra Roe Guinn; One Daughter & Son-In-Law: Hope and Greg Hartley, Butler; Four Sisters: Lea McKinney and her husband, J.D., Elk Park, North Carolina, Myrtle Elliott, Summersville, South Carolina, Dorthy Forbes, Elizabethton, and Wanda Mae Pate, Johnson City; One Brother & Sister-in-Law: Tommy & Betty Guinn, Roan Mountain; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Captain Nelson Cemetery, Ripshin Mountain, with Pastor Nathan Jennings and Pastor Jack Lloyd officiating.
Interment will follow the service. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday will be: Walter Paul VanHuss, Aubrey Brown, Jeff Hitechew, Randall Hutchins, Jim McKinney and Ray Arnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Darrell Blackburn, Carl Cable, Jerry Lawson, Kenneth Miller, Leon Whitehead and his church family and friends. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.
