Clara Snyder Hodge. . .
Clara Snyder Hodge, age 74 of Mountain City died at her home Wednesday at 2 a.m. after a two-month illness. She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late Alex and Abbie Martin Snyder and widow of the late A. Lincoln Hodge deceased April 24, 1965; and a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gar Hodge, and Sam Hodge, of Mountain City; five daughters, Faye Hodge and Venie Hodge, and Mrs. Shirley Farmer, all of Mountain City and Mrs. Bessie Jackson and Mrs. Pauline Slaughter, both of Bristol; seven grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at First Christian Church on Friday at 2 p.m. with H.T. Mabry and Rev. A.E. Brown officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Grady May, Ray May, Fred May, Dick Mains, Edd Hodge, Joe Eller, Stacy May and Arvalee May. Flower bearers were ladies of the church and neighbors.
