- ELIZABETHTON — Brenda McQueen Nave, age 66, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following a brief illness.
Brenda was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of Ivan W. McQueen and Virginia Crumley McQueen.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward "Eddy" Nave; and one sister-in-law, Judy Nave.
Brenda graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1966, where she was a member of the Betsy Band, then went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from ETSU. She retired from Keenburg Elementary School in the year 2000, after 30 years of service as a 2nd grade teacher.
She was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ.
Those left to cherish her memory, include her mother and father, Ivan and Virginia McQueen, of Elizabethton; one brother, Glenn "Skip" McQueen, of Johnson City; one special nephew, Richard Ryan McQueen and wife Helen, of Odessa, FL; one great great niece, Lilah McQueen, also of Odessa, FL; her mother-in-law, Madge Nave, of Mountain City; and one sister-in-law, Mary Nave, also of Mountain City.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Brenda McQueen Nave will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2015, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Roby Ellis and Mr. Eddy Craft, ministers, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday.
The graveside service will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee.
