- BUTLER — Louise Tucker Pleasant, 92, Butler, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Old Butler, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Matilda Burton Tucker. Louise was a 1938 graduate of Watauga Academy. She was associated with her husband for several years in the operation of Pleasant's General Store, Butler.
She was an active member of the Little Doe Baptist Church until her illness. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, active in the W.M.U. and former Treasurer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Karl Pleasant, five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter: Trula Haley and her fiancé, Sid Smithdeal, Butler, and Two Sons: Dick Pleasant and his fiancée, Dr. Teresa Garland, Jonesborough, and Mike Pleasant, Butler. Nine Grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews. A Sister-In-Law: Ona Pleasant Long, Butler.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Louise Pleasant will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Little Doe Baptist Church with the Rev. Kreg Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Butler Memorial Cemetery. Music will be provided by her great grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Great Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Great Grandchildren, her church family and Alumni of Watauga Academy.
