- Mrs. Pearl Teague, 93, formerly of 116 W. Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in the Lakebridge Health Care Center.
She was a native of Beech Creek, NC.
Mrs. Teague was born June 25, 1919, to the late Sherman and Hattie Dyer Presnell. She joined the Union Baptist Church and at an early age was baptized. Mrs. Teague also attended other local churches in the area. She was the last leaf on her family tree.
She enjoyed flowers, traveling and walking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis C. Teague; a son, Richard Teague; four brothers, Ira, Raymond, Ernest and Lloyd Presnell; two sisters, Bertha Presnell and Pina Gilley.
Survivors include a son, Stacy A. Teague and his wife, Kathryn, of Lawrenceville, GA; a daughter-in-law, Shenny Teague, of Johnson City; grandchildren, Darrell Teague, Melinda Teague Pickett, both of Durham, NC, and Bryan Teague, of Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Haley and Mason Pickett, of Durham, NC; also several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2013, with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park.
