- Grover Cleveland McCoury, 70, husband of Mrs. Hazel Hughes McCoury, Thomasville, RD 1, was dead on arrival Monday at 2 p.m. at Hanover General Hospital. Dr. C. L. Hartman, deputy county coroner, attributed death to heart illness.
Born at Bakersville, N.C. he was a son of the late Decatur and Celia (Hopson) McCoury and was engaged in farming. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hanover.
Also Surviving are; Six children, Grover C. McCoury Jr., and Jerry McCoury, both of Thomasville, RD 1; Mrs. Margaret Hoover and Mrs. Jeanette Myers, both of East Berlin; R. Grove R 3; Delano McCoury Glen Rock R 1; 19 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers and a sister: Emmett McCoury, Spring Grove R 3; Floyd McCoury, Grandview Road, Hanover; Harry McCoury, Elizabethtown, Tenn; Hanford McCoury, Unicoi, Ky., and Mrs. Geneva Hill, Baltimore.
The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Officiating will be the Rev. John S. Oldfield, minister of the Yorktowne Chapel of York. Burial will be in Penn Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
