  Notes	"Elizabethton Star," Tuesday, May 2, 1944 MRS. NANCY VINES Mrs. Nancy Hicks Vines, age 89, died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Monday at 4:30 p.m. after an illness of 10 days. Mrs. Vines was a native of North Carolina, but has made her home in Carter County for a number of years. She was one of the oldest citizens of Carter County, and a member of the Baptist church at Fish Springs. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Campbell, Fish Springs; five sons, John Vines, Will Vines, Johnson City; Frank Vines, Fish Springs, Grove Vines, Butler; James Vines, Fish Springs; 28 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Fish Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Souder and Rev. George Westmoreland in charge. The body will remain in the chapel of the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home. Active pallbearers and flower bearers will be selected from friends at the service. The Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.
