- Mary Gladys Woods Walker

Gladys Woods Walker, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Johnson County Community Hospital.
She was born in Mountain City, Tennessee, on April 26, 1936, to the late Samuel Solomon 'Sol' and Martha 'Callie' Bryant Woods.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Woods Creed; and a brother, Archie Woods.
Gladys enjoyed reading and sitting on her porch watching the hummingbirds. She was a 1954 Graduate of Johnson County High School.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert "R.S" S. Walker; her children: Charles "Chuck" Walker, Diane Walker Hawkins and husband, Jody, and Linnie F. Walker, all of Mountain City, TN; special heart daughter, Mechelle Brown Arney; brothers: Ed Wood, of Bristol, TN, and Jim Woods and wife, Marie, of Bear, DE; grandchildren: David & wife, Mary Sue Mosley, Scott Mosley, Andy Stout and Dusty Stout; great grandchildren: Trey Mosley, Christian Mosley, Addison Mosley, Christopher Evans Renae Mosley and Jessica Mosley; mother-in-law, Mattie Walker; two very special cousins: R.C. Woods and wife, Carolyn, and Wayne Bryant; special niece, Geena Atwood; brothers-in-law: Connie Eggers and John Eggers and wife, Glenda; sisters-in-law: Opal Woods, Blanche Settlemyer, Mary Hicks, Delores Walker, Faye Walker, Shirley Michael and husband, Bill, and Betty Mink; special friends: Linda Brown, Barbara Simcox, Doris Stout, Patsy Eller, Nancy Tester, Betty Hilbert, Novella Reece and her friend and Nurse Practioner, Anna Marie Witmer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Norman to officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.
Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Walker Cemetery, located on Reece Hill Road. Pallbearers are David Mosley, Scott Mosley, Christian Mosley, Addison Mosley, Joseph Atwood and Jesse Atwood. Honorary Pallbearers are: Randy McKinney, Dwayne Arney, Larry Creed, Ronnie Woods and Michael Simcox.
