- Kathryn S. "Kate" Umbarger, 88, Johnson City passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the Appalachian Christian Village.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Jennie Morefield Stout. She had lived in LaSiena, California, for 17 years before returning to Tennessee.
She was a member of the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Umbarger, August 10, 1988; and by three brothers: Clyde, Ron and Estill Stout.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Michael & Barbara Black, Jonesborough; Two Grandsons: Jeremy and Seth Black, both of Phoenix, Arizona; One Sister: Zola Birch, Denton, Texas; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Rock Springs Cemetery, Butler, with Pastor Paul Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12 Noon Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
