- W.C. "June" Pierce, 81, 165 Scott Street, Butler, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Pierce was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Crumley and Cora Presnell Pierce.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha "Tean" White Pierce, February 6, 1995; six sisters, Virginia White, Maude Broyles, Essie Pierce, Stella Grindstaff, Dorothy Oliver and Lola Broyles; and a brother, Gaston Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of the Pierce Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, a sister, a brother, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren,
PIERCE -- Funeral services for W.C. "June" Pierce, 81,
who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday.
