  Notes	"Elizabethton Star," Sunday, February 1, 1948 JOHN ROSWELL GRYDER John Roswell Gryder, 92, died at his home, Route 2, Butler, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. after a short illness. He was a member of the Lower Elk Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Tiltel Gryder of Avery County and Arlie Gryder of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. A. E. Green, of Heaton, North Carolina and Mrs. W. E. Sheffield of Vilas, North Carolina; and one sister, Mrs. Venie Barnett of Hiddenite, North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Lower Elk Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Potter and the Rev. Tommy Stansberry officiating. Burial will be in the Whitehead Cemetery.
