  Notes	"The Tomahawk," Wednesday, July 6, 1966 Sylvia E. Michael. . . Sylvia E. Michael, age 80, of Mountain City, Route 2, Laurel Community, died in the Cannon Memorial Hospital Thursday at 10:55 p.m. after a short illness. She was a native of Ashe County, N.C. but had made her home in Johnson County many years. She was the widow of the late Millard F. Michael and daughter of the late Jackson and Naomi Miller Sturgill. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Fred Michael, Mountain City and Cad Michael, Detroit, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Emmett Parson, Mountain City; one brother, M.L. Sturgill, Parker, N.C. 17 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the New Hope Baptist Church Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Blaine Eggers, Rev. H.T. Mabry and Rev. A.E. Brown and Rev. Ernest Rash officiating. Burial was in the Donnelly cemetery. Palbearers[sic] were grandsons and flower bearers ladies of the church and neighbors. Lewis Gentnry[sic] in charge. MICHAEL, Sylvia E.
