- DAYTONA BEACH, FL — Virginia Lee Davis Fletcher, 92, Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Elizabethton, gained her angel wings and went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Hospice, Dayton Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Fletcher was born September 6, 1923, in Johnson City, TN to the late William Riley "Bill" Davis and Myrtle Brooks. Prior to moving to Florida six years ago with her daughter, Mrs. Fletcher lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Virginia was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation, a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, a member and Past Worthy Matron of Sycamore Chapter 163, Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Social Order of Beauceant # 244, Kingsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Ralph H. Fletcher on April 4, 2010.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte (Joe) Reed, Dayton Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Dena (Mark) Phillips, Dayton Beach; a sister, Connie Rasnick, Elizabethton; special nieces, Angela Manning & Dianna Wright.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday followed by the Funeral Services and an Eastern Star Memorial Service at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Polk and Mr. Randy Carrier, Minister officiating. Music will be provided by the Oak Street Baptist Church Choir.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Joe Reed, Mark Phillips, Foye Manning, Thomas Tester, Dylan Wright, Frankie Wright, Frankie Richardson and Roscoe Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, members of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Bodies of East Tennessee. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday to go to the cemetery.
