Bert T. Lowe...
Bert T. Lowe, age 59, Mountain City, (Doe Valley community) died in Cannon Memorial Hospital at Banner Elk, N.C., Thursday at 5:35 p.m. after a short illness. He was a native of Johnson County, a farmer, member (Mason) Lebanon Lodge No. 7, F and AM, Washington, D.C., and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bristol.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Pearl Buckles Lowe, Mountain City; one son, George Lowe, Mountain City; one brother, Lee Lowe, Mountain City; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Fenner and Mrs. Mary L. Whitten, both of Mountain City, Mrs. Otis Albert Moffat, Colo., and Mrs. W.P. Everson, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lewis Gentry Funeral Home Chapel Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Worley and Rev. A.E. Browne officiating. Burial was in Shelby Hills, Bristol.
Pallbearers were Fred Fenner, Ernest Eggers, Joe McQueen, Homer Wilson, Paul Chappell and Roy Trivett. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. R.O. Glenn, Clifford Pierce, Wayne Fritts, Joe Osborne, Ronda Goodwin and H. Long.
