ROBERT L. HYDER
Robert L. Hyder, 60 year old resident of Gap Creek, died at his home on Tuesday morning after an illness of several months. Mr. Hyder was a native of Carter county and a member of the Christian church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Hyder; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Meredith, Mrs. Ray Woodby of Gap Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Chalie Collins, Mrs. Ray Hyder of Gap Creek; two brothers, Charlie Hyder of Detroit, Tip Hyder of Johnson City.
Mr. Hyder was a Spanish-American war veteran serving with the 7th volunteer Infantry of Tennessee.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Christian Church of Gap Creek Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. John Shepherd, John Meredith, John Hall, Oswald Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hyder-McKinney Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Ross Lovelace, Bailey Chesser, Lawrence Meredith, Jim Dugger, Nat Dugger, Joe Williams, G. A. McKinney.
