Funeral Services For Mrs. Brooks Hyder Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks Hyder, age 57, who died at her home in the Lilly Addition Thursday morning, will be conducted from the East Side Baptist church Friday afternoon at 2:30, with the Rev. James Boyd, Rev. H. C. Hopkins, and Rev. V. Floyd Starke officiating. Interment will be in the Highland cemetery.
Mrs. Eb Nave will be in charge of the music.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Brumitt, and Mrs. Charlie Franklin; one son, Harry Hyder, all of Elizabethton; one brother George Toncray, Sr., of Johnson City; and five grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased and will include George Toncray, Jr., of Johnson City, Bill Toncray, Fred Troncray, Clifford Allen, Joe Allen, Romney Blevins, Jim Hyder and Houston Blevins.
Flower bearers will include members of the adult ladies class of the East Side Baptist church of which Mrs. Hyder was teacher, and Mrs. D. M. Chamber, Mrs. Lizzie Belle Reed, Mrs. Bob Slaughter, Miss Pauline Brumit, and Mrs. Crumley Boone.
