- Anne Eureka Snyder Grindstaff, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Mountain City Care Center, Mountain City, Tennessee after a lengthy illness. She was born in Johnson County on January 18, 1925 to the late Noah Snyder and Ollie Martin Snyder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, C. Robert (Bob) Grindstaff; one sister, Susie Kimberlin and four brothers, Martin, D. L., Robert, and Sanford Snyder.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Danny) Cunningham and Deana (Larry) Shoun; two sons, Joe Eric and Jerry Grindstaff; one brother, Alex Snyder; sister-in-law, Pearl G. Snyder; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Eureka was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Shouns community) and served as Sunday school teacher for four-five year olds for more than 20 years. She was a supervisor at the Leco Mfg. Co. for approximately 8 years and was a teacher assistant and substitute teacher for several years.
A receiving of friends will be held 1:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3385 Roan Creek Rd., Mountain City, with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 P.M. Services will be conducted by Rev. Warren Stewart and Rev. Jim Norman with music provided by Elaine Moore, Donna Fritts and Joe Simcox. Graveside service and interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Peter Kelley, Freddie Hicks, Todd Grayson, Rick Moore, Harry Cunningham, Tom Fortune and Howard Morefield. Special friends include Kay Atwood, Martha Dugger, Betty Sue Roark, Katherine Hassenrich, Brenda Fletcher, Carolyn Roberts, Sarah Lawson, Sue Neely, Helen and Carl Hooks, Kings Workers Sunday School Class (PGBC).
