- Floyd C. Estep, 74, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel Mitchell Estep, Sr and Nannie Carden Estep. Floyd was a 1955 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a retired Design Engineer with Inland Container. He was a member of the Carter County Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a member of the Roan Street Church of God but attended Blue Springs Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Frances Stout Estep, a sister Novella Treadway and a brother, Roy Estep.
Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Teresa & Michael Edwards, Lexington, South Carolina and Tammy & Steve Pierce, Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Christopher Edwards & Wife Kelly, Lexington, SC., Melanie Harmon and husband Rev. John Harmon, Lexington, SC, Daniel Burchett, Knoxville, and Stephanie Pierce, Elizabethton. A Great Granddaughter: Caroline Grace Edwards, Lexington, SC, a Great Grandson Michael Norris Harmon, Lexington, SC. Two Brothers: Carl Estep and S.M. Estep, Jr. both of Elizabethton. Several Nieces & Nephews and his very special dog, Zorro.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Thomason officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. John Harmon officiating. Music will be provided by Gene Estep, Organist. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday will be: Joe Oliver, Richard Caldwell, Rick Melton, Rusty Melton, Glen Estep, Bill Mosley, Bill Hamilton and Norman Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Terry Miller, Bill Turner, Bill Polly, Wayne Estep, Dean Estep,and the Elizabethton High School Class of 1955.
