GENERAL MORELAND
General Moreland, 50, died at the home of his brother, Ex-sheriff, J. M. Moreland, at Carter Monday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at the home of J. M. Moreland Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. C. Y. Elkins and the Rev. Arthur Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the family cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Moreland; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Taylor and Mrs. Zella Taylor; one brother, J. M. Moreland, all of Carter. Mr. Moreland was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Knoxville, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be: W. W. Worley, Otis Jackson, John Wilson, John Crumley, Henry Rosenmund, Mr. Wesley Steele.
Honorary pallbearers: Sherman Grindstaff, Lloyd Perry, James B. Deal, Charles Morgan, Earnest Buckles, Dennis Brewer, Nave McQueen, Omer Buckles, Mack Boring, S. C.
