Mrs. Melissa Jane Morley, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Elizabethton, after a brief illness. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Judge L. B. Morley; three sons, Clyde and Dwight Morley of Mountain City, and Fuller Morley of Middletown, Pa.; five daughters, Mrs. Retta Hart of Elizabethton, Mrs. Evelyn Plantz of Middletown, Pa., Anna Ruth Morley, Mrs. Mildred Shoun, and Minnie Gordon, all of Mountain City; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Matherly of Elizabethton, Mrs. Mollie Waugh of Mountain City, Mrs. Lennie Smith and Mrs. Winnie Grindstaff, both of Butler; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m., in the home of Rev. Herman Cobb, Elizabethton, and Rev. Truett Cox, Barberville, W.Va., will officiate.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain City. Gentry Funeral Home in charge.
